Show Countv budget hearing postponed a week j The County Commission Monty Mon-ty postponed the public hearing on & proposed 1978 budget in order to hold a required use hearing on Revenue Sharing expenditures. These special expenditures bkh must be considered at a public hearing before the regular budget hearing are proposed for a i nty road truck at $35,000 and '25,000 to be set aside for a fire tion in Spanish Valley. Coffman, Jr., was appointed to the Economic Development Board to replace Robert Rob-ert Norman, whose term had expired. expir-ed. The commission also reappointed reappoin-ted Ray Branscom, Sr., to another term on that board. In addition Penelope Coffman was appointed to the Mental Health Board. The proposed animal control ordinance, on which a public hearing was held Nov. 15, was adopted in revised form by the Commission and will become effective Nov. 24. In other business the commission commis-sion accepted the Southern Paving bid of $2.70 per cubic yard for 10,000 cubic yards of 34 inch gravel. Bob Engstrom later protested the letting let-ting of the gravel bid, stating he felt since his bid was 32c a yard below the Southern Paving bid, he should have been awarded the contract. The commission informed him their decision to accept the higher bid was based on past performance. John Keogh reported that the Grand County Planning Commission met on Nov. 15. He said he concurred in the planning commissions commis-sions opinion that Murphy Subdivision Subdivis-ion be rezoned from A-l to R-2, and the commission agreed to take necessary action to rezone the area. A beer license to Black Oil dba Freeway Texaco at Thompson was approved. |
