Show Troopers Gain Recognition For Work According to Captain John D. Rogers. Field Division Commander of the Utah Highway Patrol, Pa-trol, eleven Lightning Bolt decals have been awarded to Patrol officers of-ficers for apprehending stolen car thieves since the program went into effect on Feb. 1. 1973. To this date. Trooper Charles Weber ofGreen River. Utah and Trooper Paul Mangelson of Xe-phi. Xe-phi. have each gained two. Other officers receiving re-ceiving one each to date are: Trooper Ken Clements. Cle-ments. Panguitch; Sergeant Ser-geant George D. Jimer-son. Jimer-son. Salt Lake City; Trooper Lynn Mclnelly, Beaver; Trooper Dennis Wendel, Salt Lake City; Trooper Jim Reynolds, Salina: Trooper Jim Turner, Salt Lake City; and Trooper Xorman Steen, Salt Lake City. The new program calls for special recognition recog-nition upon an officer's arrest of five subjects driving stolen motor vehicles. ve-hicles. At the end of the year, the officer making the most arrests for that offense will be recipient of the "Gold Beehive Award." |
