Show Dead Horse Visitor Center Opening The Dead Horse Point visitor center will open on March I.', 1973 for the season. The hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. seven days per week. The reception area will remain closed until mid April when it will be opened from 9 a.m. to (j p.m. for the summer months. Any question about the area can be answered by the Ranger on duty in the park. Charging of fees will not take effect until later in April. For those persons planning to use the State Park facilities several limes during the season, it would be wise to purchase the State Park annual permit per-mit early. It can be obtained ob-tained from most State Parks or the State Parks office in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Golden Fagle permits per-mits or the Golden Age Passport are not valid in the State Parks of Utah. During the month of February 476 persons visited the park, with only 33 of those staying overnight. This brings the yearly visitation to 661, much below the same two months in 1972 when 1.912 persons paid a visit to the park. With the snow just about gone we should start to see a increase in visitation to the parks. |
