Show Is your daughter in Scouting? If not, why not? Do you know anything about the Moab Neighborhood Neighbor-hood Girl Scouts? If not, contact our Neighborhood Neighbor-hood Chairman, Lorraine Lor-raine Self, 259-5248. All troops are now active and just beginning this year. Juliette Gordon Low organized or-ganized the first Girl Guides on March 12, 1912 ,in Savannah, Georgia. She followed, for the girls, along the lines of the Boy Scout program her dear friends Robert Baden Powell and his wife Olave had started in England in 1909. The first hand book was titled "How Girls Can Help Their Country." Today we would like to hope the girls can learn to help themselves and their families before they tackle the country. Today the path of Scouting Scout-ing is a fun filled path filled with adventure and learning. Girls learn about the Promise and the 10 Girl Scouts Laws, they learn the meaning of the Girl Scout .Motto Be Prepared and the Slogan, Do a Good Turn Daily. Girls, try it, vou'll like it! This year we have brand new uniforms more in keeping with the styles of the times. These can be seen and purchased at Miller's Clothing. They are the official Girl Scout Equipment Agency and have a good line of everything every-thing in scouting from uniforms to camp equipment, equip-ment, jewelry and games and gift items. If you see something in the catalog you would like but they don't have it in stock, just ask, they are so good about ordering items for us and we would like to give them a big Thank You for helping us out in this way. If you do not feel you are up to a new uniform, try an experienced one. Experienced uniforms can be seen at 471 Nichols Lane. Anyone having an experienced uniform may take it to this address, please have your name and price you would like on it, anyone wishing to donate uniforms, or any other equipment may take it to the above address. |
