Show Med. Training Program Set For Monticello An emergency medical medi-cal technician training program is being planned plan-ned beginning May 19, at the Monticello hospital. hospit-al. The format w ill be four 2-day weekends (Saturday (Satur-day and Sunday) and will be taught by physicians and Emergency Medical Technician personnel who are specialists in their fields of instruction. instruc-tion. The course was developed de-veloped by Dunlap and Associates, Inc., under the direction of the National Na-tional Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Included are 71 hours of classroom training and 10 hours of in-hospital observation. The purpose of this program is to provide an environment in which the technician can improve im-prove his ability to recognize rec-ognize and properly treat the symptoms of illness or injury. The program emphasis will be directed direct-ed toward training opportunities op-portunities for ambulance ambu-lance personnel, police officers, firemen, and search and rescue personnel per-sonnel as well as others who are involved in emergency medical care. Seven members of the (wand County Sheriff's Posse have indicated that they will be attending (he sessions, however representatives re-presentatives from industry in-dustry are needed as well.
