Show Thompson News Notes. . ., Virginia Gruver By Betty Jeffries .Sorry folks I missed last week. I was called upon to drive the travel all back from the river for the Travel Institutes first boat trip of the year. There were 30 counting the counselors for the 4 day trip. Thursday Thurs-day afternoon I drove the travel all to Moab to pick them up from their trip. The HVU students stu-dents said they enjoyed their journey very much in spite of the sunburns. Faster Sunday found Thompson very busy. Tony and Rose Lemiuex gave a beautiful lamb barbeque. Out of town people that attended were Rose Lemiuex's mother, brothers and sisters and t li e i r families from Price, Utah; Hud and Jane Lincoln; Mayor and Mrs. Hunce all from Moab; and the Ranker and his wife from (ireen River. Paula Lemiuex came home early Faster morning and went back to Salt Lake City and her nursing Tuesday. Besides the barbequo there was an Faster egg hunt, baseball game, and a volleyball game that were enjoyed by all. Tuesday found the Jeffries Jef-fries house busy early. Three kids had to be ready for school by 7:15 a.m. after their-4 day weekend. At about 7:50 Bettv Jeffries' mom and dad, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Myers, from Price stopped stop-ped on their way to Montrose, Mon-trose, Colorado on business. busi-ness. At 8:10 Betty and Grandma Calrk were on the road to Grand Junction. Junc-tion. Colorado on business. busi-ness. Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Simpson stopped in Thompson to visit old friends. Mr. Simpson used to be plant manager man-ager at the acid plant for Kennecott Copper before his retirement 5 years ago. With Mr. and Mrs. Simpson were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Harmon from Green River Mr. Leon Brinkerhoff and children have had company all week from Bicknell. It. Mr. and Mrs. Schulte are old friends of Leon's. The Schultes returned home the 1st of May, Friday night Rose Le-rniues Le-rniues had a surprise for her birthday. Daughter Paula came home just for overnight for mama. Paula brought a friend with her. The two girls returned to Salt Lake Saturday morning. Another Ano-ther surprise for Rose was one of her brothers came by Thursday afternoon. after-noon. She had not seen this brother for about a year and a half. Jerry and Sue F.lliottand daughter Tracy took a weekend trip to Bicknell. On their return home Sunday they found a surprise sur-prise birthday parlv and dinner for Sue at Mama and Papa Lemiuex's home. Sunday was Jerrv and Bonnie Mechams anniversary an-niversary and the dinner at the Lemiuex's was in their honor also. Sunday afternoon found Jim and Vera O'Xeil returning re-turning home from their two week's vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thev both said they had a most enjoyable time but had to come home to rest up. John Millor and family returned home to Washington Wash-ington after a most enjoyable en-joyable vacation Monday.
