Show Colorado River Is Booming Although the Colorado River at Moab does not usually crest until sometime some-time in June, already the waters are higher than residents have seen it for several years. The flow in the river, which was increased this week by heavy rains and runoff from the mountains, is now running "bank full" at the Moab bridge. The Bureau of Reclamation, Recla-mation, which bases its river forecasts on snow measurements taken by the Soil Conservation Service and Forest Service, Ser-vice, predicted in their April advisory flow near Cisco of 3,417,000 ac. ft. of water for the period of April through July. This is 122 per cent of the average of 2,802,000 ac. ft. and is far above last year's flow of 1,594,00 ac. ft. The forecast for Mill Creek is 8,500 ac. ft. for the April through July period, 173 per cent of average which is 4,900 ac. ft. |
