Mr. and Mrs. Robert Calvert of Denver, Colo., were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Grossman Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-2- Week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gressman were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Christensen and son Ronald of Goshen and Mrs. Margaret Wilcox and dau-ghters, Peggy and Karen, of Eureka Attending the Salt Lake trap shoot Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Christie and daughter Ann. Ann shot 50 straight. She also was one of five tied for prize money. Mrs. Horace Seal and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walker were Salt Lake City visitors Monday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Leon Christensen and daughter, Lark Lions club held their re- - 'lark news Joy Seal 90U1 A hobby show was held Tues-day night at Lark amusement hall sponsored by the Lark MIA. Mrs. Mary Bingham, recreation director, was in charge. All class-es participated and a large crowd was in attendance. Refreshments were served. A correlation meeting for i officers and teachers of Lark and Mrs. Carl A. Evans and son ol Samaria, Idaho. Judy Slotte, well known local feminine bowler, is among the eight women bowlers listed for action in the round robin finals of the second Ritz-Temp- le Wo-men's Match play bowling cham-pionships next Saturday and Sunday at the Ritz. LOCAL NOTES No. 2 Firemen and auxiliary held their regular monthly con-joint dinner social at No. 2 Fire hall Monday night. Committee in charge of arrangements were Mr. and Mrs. Raiford G. Benson, Mr. and 'Mrs. Earl Evans and Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Booth. In-dividual corsages were favors for the 'ladies. Following dinner five hundred was played and' prizes awarded to Mrs. Clive Siddoway, Mrs. Hugo Bianchi, Louis J. Arritola. La Veil Timo-thy and Martin Prigmore. Thirty eight were present. Monday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Evans and daughter Carolyn were Bishop ministrative head. His taste in appointments, his knowledge of dis-tinguished service, his appreciation of little niceties to please pat-rons and his insistence on courtesy at all times is evidenced in the attitude and the efficiency of the staff he has assembled about him. Of course it is impossible for Mr. Carpenter to be everywhere at once, and the mantle of administrative responsibility for success-ful operation of such a great institution as the Hotel Utah is not to be borne lightly. Especially at times of conventions and other great assemblages there is much serious business to engage his hours, though his understanding and his spirit of extraordinary service are evident throughout the Hotel Utah constantly. Yes, the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City is a prime factor in add-ing to the greatness of our Intermountain Empire and to the enjoy-ment of guests and profit to us all, and the personality of Max Car-penter is an impressive feature of the greatness of the Hotel Utah itself.
