Show A Letter from Pearl, lona and Barbara... YOUTH EMPLOYMENT , With the Travel Center at ' ; the Airport and other civic programs going on, A. C. , Ekker has openings for six youngsters on the MANPOWER MANPOW-ER program for this summer. . There are restrictions as to how much money the parents can be earning, but for any boy or girl from 14 to 21 years of age who can qualify, there is an opening for $2.30 an hour for a limit of 32 hours a week. A student may hold another job in addition to this. Duties will be varied; anything in the town that needs doing can come under this program. A.C. would like to get a crew of six together to attack any problem that has not been cut down to size by another agency in the town. Knowing him, it is a safe bet that these youngsters w ill find an exciting and worthwhile experience in varied jobs that demand many skills. Application forms arc at the airport or the City Hall. And don't fool around, A.C. says that he will take the first six that apply. BOYS STATE The American Legion is sending two boys to Boys Stale at Logan this year. The boys are Tab Weihing. son of Mr. and Mrs. George Weihing and Jerry Womack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Womack. Pat Gahagcn headed the committee to choose and make arrangements for the boys to attend. MAY EAIR Woman's Club sponsored a May Fair on Saturday, with an art exhibit, handicraft bazaar and bake sale. A spaghetti dinner was cooked and served by Mrs. Scott Anderson and Mrs. Edna Anderegg. Mrs. Florence Howland was general chairman of the day, m M with Mrs. do Baxter in charge of the art and handicraft sales. About 91) pictures were exhibited exhib-ited by the local art club, and several sales were made. The pictures were well displayed, and were thoroughly enjoyed by the crowds that attended. President Edna Anderegg reports that the affair took in over $500, which the club will use during the year on its various service projects in the conimunitv. ART EXHIBIT Mrs. Shirley Wadzeck left on Monday for Hereford, Texas where she will exhibit her Cow Camp Originals at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. She will exhibit about ten of her miniature statuettes in the week-long exhibit, and hopes to bring home some prize monev. TO ITALY Mrs. Frank Vctcre and her mother. Mrs. Carl Schoenber-gcr Schoenber-gcr from Helper left for Italy last week. They are being accompanied by Father Mecr-csman. Mecr-csman. formerly of Price and hope for an audience with the Pone. ENTERS HONOR SOCIETY A note from Mrs. Marvin Holloway states that their daughter Charlene has been inducted into the Page High School Honor Society. Since Charlene lived the first few-years few-years of her life here, we. too. feci that one of our own has been singled out for scholastic excellence. Congratulations. Charlene! SCHOOL CALENDAR Principal Burr announced the schedule of events for the close of school. On May 1 1 . the Boys and Girls Activity Banquet Ban-quet was held at the Cafeteria, with students and parents participating. Alter a pot-luck supper, the athletic letters were presented and other au ards gi en. May 19 Class and Awards night at 7:30 at the High School Gym. Everyone is invited to attend. May 23 Science Fair and School Display night, open from 7:30 to 9:00 at the high school. Displays will be presented in several areas, and the public is invited to come and sec what the students have been doing this winter. May 25 commencement at 8:00 at the Hieh School fivm. PLANNED PARENTHOOD Anyone wishing to participate partici-pate in any of the many programs administered by Planned Parenthood is urged to register at the Medical Clinic. Mrs. Sue Allen is anxious to contact those who have indicated an interest in these programs, and will be glad to explain the scope of the organization to those wishing to participate. Also, an effort is being put forth to get an alcohol treatment program set up. Please give Sue a call if she can help you. AROUND THE DUNHAMS Dan Barton w as home at the Gene Dunhams for the weekend. week-end. He is going to USU, and has obtained a summer's job in Nashville. Tennessee with Southwestern Publishing Co. Kirk Dunham will be leaving this week to attend Operation Mobilization in Minnesota, where he will receive a summer's assignment. The girls are planning a trip east for the summer, and will supply details when their plans arc more certain. NEW CITIZENS Mr. and Mrs. Bill Caffee have bought the Odle farm and have moved in. They are remodeling the house and getting the farm ready for summer.
