Show Annual Valentine party held by Lions club Meeting at the Greenwell Cafe, the annual Lions Valentine Valen-tine dinner was a huge success suc-cess as over 45 members. wives and guests listened to a well conducted concert put on by girls of the Castle Valley Institute. Eight talented, lovely young girls sang and played violins during the dinner din-ner party for the benefit of those present. Under the direction of Lynelle Smith, seven girls; Lori Smith, Ann Dickerson, Charlyn Hartman, Renee Neugebauer, Trudy Fischer, Jody Knecht and Nancy Lambert Lam-bert played and sang songs to the accompaniment of violas and violins. A special guest was the District Governor and his wife of District 28A. Glenn T. Seal was elected to the district governorship during the Lions convention last year. He gave a short talk on the need for all Lions to put forth more effort for the welfare of mankind. Don Surges and Dana Lance of Grand County High School Riding Club told of the club's cooperation with the Lions during the convention last year as well as the circus and outlined plans for a rodeo they have scheduled for April of this year. A proposal was placed before be-fore the members to purchase a talking computer for a native Moab boy who attends the school for the blind in Ogden. This will be acted on during the next Director meeting. A special Governor's A-preciation A-preciation Award was presented pre-sented to W. D. McArthur for his efforts in the Annual White Cane Sale last year. Jim Gardner and W.D. McArthur Mc-Arthur were approved as a committee for a $50 donation to any one in an emergency. A vote of thanks was given to the committee for the planning of the Valentines Party. Don Crist, Duane Bolton, Jim Gardner and their wives made up the committee. |
