Show Andrew Hunt ... Andrew Hunt was born to Johnathon and Josephine Chidester Hunt at Giles (Blue Valley), Wayne County, Utah June 26, 1895. His mother died when he was about two years old, and the family moved to Cainsville in 1912. He was married to Olive Curfew, daughter of John H. and Eliza M. Carroll Curfew in Loa June 27, 1916. Bishop Okerland performed the ceremony cere-mony at his home. The young couple lived in Cainsville for several years, then moved to Aldrich, where they had a ranch and fruit farm. Reo was born in Aurora, Lloyd was born in 1921, and Kay was born September 18, 1925 in Redmond, Utah. During his life Mr. Hunt was a stockman and farmer in Cainsville and Aldrich. He bought a ranch at Hanksville and moved there. In 1936, the family purchased a house at Green River where they lived while the boys were at school. During his youth, Mr. Hunt sheared sheep every year from March until July, while Olive stayed at the ranch. He started in Arizona or New Mexico and followed north to Montana. One year the family went to Wyoming for the shearing season. During the uranium boom days, he entered the mining j business with his son Kay. s Most of their properties are in the San Rafael Swell, Poison Springs and Henry Mountains, f ' They helped open the Pick Delta mine and were promised half interest if they would take down their claim notices, so Mrs. Hunt reports. After several years of litigation, they 1 lost the case because of the time element. Andrew played the fiddle for dances, and Kay started playing with him when he was about seven years old. About three years ago Mr. Hunt suffered a stroke at Trachyte mining camp. Since that time, his condition worsened wor-sened until he entered the Emery County Nursing home in June. Mrs. Hunt and the boys wish to thank their many friends for their many acts of kindness during the last sickness and death of their husband and father. |
