With six minutes left in the game the two teams were locked up 5l)-59 and Moab had two men, Bohn and Wyatt, in deep foul trouble. Things suddenly went cold at the hoop and the clubs struggled down to 1:35 to go tied at 65-65. Moab had two easy shots underneath bounce out and Grand Junction worked the clock for one shot. They didn't get it. Wyatt stole the ball and called time out. The Devils too went for the one shot going to their senior center Wyatt with nine seconds left and the crowd hysteric. Wyatt zeroed in from eighteen feet and banged it through. The Tigers stopped the clock with only two seconds showing and a frantic Tiger Coach, Kicth Higlies, climbing all over the scoring desk. Referee Jack Woodward ruled, correctly, correct-ly, that four seconds were left, but it didn't matter. Wyatt stepped in front of the inhounds pass and that was it. Mike Bunce led the Moab scoring with 19. Ken Bohn had his second great night with 1 including ten in the second half. Both guards played well and scored well with Tabberer getting 12 and Loveridge 11. Wyatt had only eight, but the last two loomed largest of the game. Coach Del Lord had to go to his bench because of foul trouble and it worked well. |
