Show Chicken contest and greased pole termed a success The Jayceettes would like to thank all those who turned out in support of the Chicken Poopin' Contest and Greased Pole Climb. The Chicken Contest was so much fun and such a success that after we had one winner, it was decided to do it again and give half the pot away to another lucky winner. The big winner of the contest was Ronald Dolphin who went away with 52.50 in the first round of the contest. Another chicken was then thrown in the ring and Carol Beason came up a winner, taking home a $25 jackpot. The remaining $25 will go towards funding the Special Events parties for the extended care patients at Allen Memorial Hospital. The Greased Pole Climb was another big success with a great crowd turning out to watch and participate. There were 10 winners, with many others trying to get up that slippery pole. All the contestants contest-ants showed great determination determina-tion to make it to the top, and the Jayceettes would have -liked to have a prize for each person who tried. The winners of the ten prizes were: Jody Rivenes who took home the Levi Belt and Buckle from Miller's Clothing; Clo-thing; Tracy Garcia got $5 from Sears; Tamie Ohman will be treating her family and friends to 2 Medium pizzas from Pizza Hut; Lavar Shum-way Shum-way took home a waterproof lantern from Yellow Front, Paul Tangren gets his next haircut free courtesy of Pete's Hairhouse; Guy Davidson now has a place for his fishing gear in a new tackle box from Gamble's; George Larsen's feet won't get cold with the thermal socks he won from Family Budget Clothing; Dale Wilkinson's mom will be happy hap-py with the Dazey Seal-A-Meal donated by Miller's Hardware, Wayne Gold won a liquid silver necklace for his lady, courtesy of the Inca Inn, and Todd Zimmerman will be gaining a few extra pounds with the $2 in certificates from Tastee Freeze. The Jayceettes thank all the folks who turned out to try their luck and everyone who just wanted to cheer them on an a very special thank you to the Jaycees who helped maintain the crowds in their anxiety to try climbing. It was a lot of the fun and the Jayceettes hope to do it again i sometime. I |
