Show Jeep Safari Planning Continued by Chamber Moalj Chamber of Commerce Com-merce members continued to prepare for the upcoming" upcom-ing" Jeep Safari, at their Tuesday luncheon meeting meet-ing held at the SunDowner. The group, in preparation prepara-tion for the annual Easter weekend Safari, reviewed a letter prepared by Safari Sa-fari Chairman Harold Jacobs, Ja-cobs, which will be sent to those persons who registered reg-istered for the event last year. , The letter informed those persons of the date for the four wheel drive event ev-ent as well as the annual Boy Scout barbeque which will be: held the evening prior to the pilgrimage. Also mentioned in the letter, is. the always popular popu-lar Lions Club breakfast to be held the morning of the Safari. That new trails are on the agenda for this year is also mentioned. mention-ed. ' As to conclusion, the letter invites all Jeep Sa. fari participants to join in the Easter Sunrise service ser-vice which will be held in Arches National Monument. Monu-ment. A report on the directors' direc-tors' meeting held last, week stated that the Chamber ' had received word from "The Dating Game" saying that they were interested in sending send-ing a couple to Moab if the Chamber ' would be willing to pay a $600 fee to cover transportation to Moab as well as providing lodging "and meals as well as entertainment while the couple is here. The Moab TraveLodge indicated that they would provide the lodging and meals for the couple and Dixie Barker stated that if the two were in the area during the Friendship Friend-ship Cruise, she would be happy to make arrange ments for them to go on the Cruise. In return for hosting the couple, Moab will be mentioned first on the show when the prize is awarded and again several sever-al months after the couplf returns. Plans were made to cancel can-cel the order which had been made by the Chamber Cham-ber for some 125,000 bro chures. The company which had been selected to print the material was to be contacted and if the order had not yet been started it was to be withdrawn and given to another firm Graphicolor, Inc. of California, Cali-fornia, which had submitted submit-ted a bid more than $300 less than that agreed upon by the Salt Lake City firm. Total cost for the printing was to have been $6,625 compared with $6,. 300 which was bid by the Calfornia firm. In addition, addi-tion, the firm stated that in the future, after plates were made, this amount of printing could be done foi about $5,900. |
