Show Thompson News Notes By Virginia Gruver A strange thing happened in Thompson. Jr. Pene and Kenneth Davis heard someone some-one yelling for help on the slope northwest of town. They contacted Jesse Gruver of the Sheriff's Posse and he rounded up what men he could, but in the meantime, Jesse asked over his loudspeaker loud-speaker if the man could hear him, and Jesse heard him say, "yes," but could never get any more word out of him. They came home, ate supper and some more of the boys in Thompson joined the rest and searched with flashlights. They had to abandon ab-andon the search and the next morning the Sheriff was called and he and Jesse Gruver Gru-ver and Ken Davis searched again and could not find anyone, any-one, at all. However there were tracks going up the slope and part way back dowa but were lost in the maze of rocks. Lois Barnes, her three children chil-dren of Fruita, Colo., and David Moore of Clifton, were visitors at Virginia Gruver's Sunday. Lois is a niece of Virgina. Strange thngs are happening happen-ing around about. Verl Rose parked his truck and trailer loaded with a cat within about 3 miles of his home; about 3 miles from a main road.
