Truck Stolen A one-ton truck be-i be-i longing to the Utah Department De-partment of Highways was driven through the gate at the state road yard Tuesday evening, and some person or per-! per-! sons had a 28-mile joy ride. According to Police Chief Mel Dalton, some-i some-i one in the Walker Subdivision Sub-division area reported at 1 about 10 p.m. that a state 1 truck was being hotrod-t hotrod-t ded in the area. City police po-lice and Highway Trooper Troop-er Ron Wood located the truck, high centered and abandoned behind the i subdivision. A large diesel was started in the state road yard, but the driver apparently ap-parently could not release re-lease the air brake, and the vehicle was left where it had been parked. Another Ano-ther one-ton truck was also started and driven around the yard. There was no damage to these 2 1 vehicles. i Damage to the truck taken was estimated at 'between $300 and $400 resulting from an apparent ap-parent collision with something wood, which mashed one door. Damage Dam-age to the gate at the yard was about $100. The incident is still under investigation. |
