Show A TALKING TUBA A talking tuba? That seemed seem-ed to be the situation at the Grand County Middle School last Thursday. Alan Surges took his hand radio to the morning band class and Doug Rowley decided to see what Paul Harvey would sound like in his tuba. Doug placed the radio into the horn part of the tuba and listened through the mouthpiece. mouth-piece. When he went to lift the radio out, he accidentally dropped it down deeper where it became lodged. The two boys took the tuba down in front of the class to show the problem to their music teacher, Mr. Bruce Negley. From there, they received permission to take it down to Royce's Electronics where it was worked on for approximately approxi-mately six hours. He finally manged to get the radio out with a bent clothes hanger. Along with Paul Harvey, the boys heard Jimmy Carter's inaugural speech and other KURA broadcasts Loud and Clear! |
