Show Devils Dominated All Quarters r. Lop-Sided Duchesne Game The running Red Devils just ran away from the low-flying Eagles of Duchesne Du-chesne last Friday. Billed as the championship champion-ship game of Region Ten, the encounter proved to be quite a bit less as the Devils dominated the entire en-tire game. The final score of 74-55 was indicative in-dicative of the tempo of . the game, with the Devils maintaining supremacy throughout. Starting off looking like it might be a contest, the Eagles gave the Devils a battle in the first three minutes of play and then that was all they had. Jeff Lott, Ken Killianand Ted Telisak, the big guns for the Eagles, could hardly har-dly get things off of the ground as they were the only scorers for the visitors vi-sitors in the first period. per-iod. The Devils led atthe end of the first stanza 19-12, with Bo Johnson hitting the nets for eight points in that quarter and Donny Knowles coming up with five. The Devils played the entire game without anyone any-one getting into foul trouble trou-ble and looked strong on defense while doing so. Marlyn Wyatt, Don Knowles, Know-les, Jeff Cathey and Kenny Ken-ny Roberts continually pulled down rebounds and fed to the fast breaking Bo Johnson. Johnson, the high scorer scor-er for the Devils, ended up the night with a good point total, although he saw limited action in the fourth period. Johnson dropped in 14 field goals and one foul shot for a total of 29 points. Kevin Daniels, another of the seniors on the team, came off the bench in the second period and looked like a point machine for u few minutes. Daniels hit on two shots from the field and converted afoul shot to give him five big points in less than two minutes. That however, was the end of his hot hand for the night. Donny Knowles dropped in thirteen points for the evening and contributed to a great number of assists as-sists during the game. The Devils hit for 19 big points in the first period and came right back in the second period and hit for 21 points. They then "cooled off" and only hit for 18 points in the third quarter and 15 in the fourth. The Eagles were only able to hit for 12, 15, 14 and 14 in consecutive con-secutive periods. The Friday victory gives the Devils a 6-2 record for the season in Region Ten competition and the Eagles end up with an 8-3 record. East Carbon and Monticello each have 7-4 records for a tie for second place in the 1-A division. The senior basketball, wrestling and cheerleader cheerlead-er and pep club participants partici-pants were introduced during the halftime ceremonies cere-monies to the partisan crowd of local fans. Along with the band, the crowd was full of enthusiasm and enjoyed the game. Coming up this week will be a rest for the Devils De-vils as they take the week off.
