Show Democratic workshop set Aoril 22 The Democratic women of Grand County met Sat., April 1 at 12 noon at the Ramada Inn for the elec- tion of officers. State Representative John Garr was the speaker at that meeting and attending with him was Mrs. Helen Garr. Ann Pool, Nominating Committee Chairman, presented the following slate of officers who were elected by acclamation: President-Norah Eubanks; President-elect-Inez Young; Treasurer-Judy Treasurer-Judy Robertson; and Judy Robertson as Secretary. Secre-tary. Lulu DeLong, immediate im-mediate past-president, will also be a member of the executive board. Marilyn Cooper, County Vice-chairman and chair- man of Region 5 women's groups, announced plans to attend the National Democratic Women's Federation in Wash., D.C. She and others will leave SLC April 26. Representative Garr, a member of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Task Force and ranking minority member of the House, spoke on the budget session ses-sion now completed as well as the upcoming special session of the State Legislature scheduled schedul-ed in May. Plans were announced for a democratic workshop to be held April 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The workshop is sponsored by the County Central Committee Commit-tee and Region 5, and will be conducted by Region 5 Chairman Ralph Coates, Rep. Garr and other noted people. The State Central Committee Com-mittee will meet April 15 in Brigham City and April 29 is scheduled for the next meeting of the women's group at noon at the Ramada Inn. |
