Show Nursing Workshop Set For Course in Moab All niirscs (practicing or niil) in southeast Utah and western Colorado are invited to al lend u workshop in "Oncology Nursing for Small Coinnninilies" on April 4-5, 1977. Instructors from the University of Utah College of Nursing will conduct the workshop, to be held in the Allen Memorial Hospital, 719 West 4th Street, Moab, Utah. The content of the workshop is based on learning needs expressed by nurses in rural Utah in response to a questionnaire. ques-tionnaire. Special attention will be given to nursing problems that are common to cancer and other chronic diseases. di-seases. Teaching methods will include lectures, discussion, case studies, and problem-solving problem-solving exercises. Several objectives have been identified in connection with the workshop for each participant, including being able to identify ways that patient care is influenced by a nurses' values and feelings about cancer, to describe the use of personal strengths and skills in counseling patients and their families, to relate the nursing care of the pathophysiology patho-physiology of selected types of cancer, and to develop ways to improve cancer patient care in the nurses' own community. com-munity. Session I will begin at 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 4 and continue through 2:30 p.m., with a lunch break scheduled. Session I will then be repeated repeat-ed from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a scheduled meal break. Session II will be presented Tuesday, April 5, and follow the same format, thus enabling participants with various working schc-dul schc-dul es to attend the sessions both days.
