Show KENNECOTT FILES TAX RETURN OF $1,263,286.61 The Utah Copper Division of Kennecott Copper Corp. filed March 12 with the Utah State Tax Commission its occupation tax calling for a payment of $1,263,286.61, which is the largest larg-est since the mine occupation tax originated in 1937, and is 84.4 per cent higher than, last year's payment. The next largest payment was made for the year 1947, when it amounted to $1,198,292.81. During Dur-ing the fourteen years this tax has been in force the Utah Copper Cop-per has paid a total of $9,451,-328.84. $9,451,-328.84. The money from this source goes into the general fund and is used to aid in the support of junior and senior colleges, state institutions, departments, and commissions as apportioned by legislative appropriation. o |
