Show WILDLIFE REPORT UTAH STATE DIVISION OF WILDLIFE RESOURCES fZTP By Jon Leatharrf Conservation Officei For those who have the special permits, the Dolores Do-lores Triangle hunt begins be-gins this Saturday. Only those with the permit are allowed to hunt for deer. Weather has been mild and deer have not been forced to the lower elevations ele-vations but they are beginning be-ginning their migration to the winter ranges. The area open to hunting hun-ting is described as follows: fol-lows: That portion of Grand County....' beginning begin-ning at highway U-128 near the confluence of the Colorado and Dolores Rivers; Ri-vers; thence southeasterly southeaster-ly along the Dolores River Ri-ver to the Utah-Colorado State line; thence North to 1-70; thence westerly along 1-70 to U-128; thence southerly along U-128 U-128 to the Colorado River, Ri-ver, point of beginning. dW It should be noted that Seven Mile Mesa is not included in the area, as it has been in past years. Hunters are reminded to stay east of the Dolores River while hunting. It has been reported that the Dolores River crossing is also very risky ris-ky to cross. Hunters are advised that they cross at their own risk. Four-wheel Four-wheel drive vehicles have been finding it impossible to cross at times. Pheasant hunting has been reported to be slow in most areas of the state. Green River hunters agreed ag-reed that birds were hard to flush from the heavy cover. Very few ih,,;. were taken, but a i hunters persisted anrt rr luckMs" The season closes nn November 25th, in- Car bon Emery, Grand and San Juan Counties It was interesting tn note that during the deer hunt, the ladies of the deer camps were always filled up before any of the men hunters. It makes a lot of Conservation Officers Of-ficers suspicious. |
