NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by the Utah Department Depart-ment of Transportation, Room 608 State Office Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1976, and at that time publicly opened for construction of A Bituminous Surfaced Roadway In Grand County, the same being that section of Interstate Highway No. 70 from White-house White-house to Westwater identified as Federal Aid Project No. 1-70-4(18)203. The length of road to be constructed or improved is 18.260 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately approximat-ely as follows: 26,011 Tons of Bituminous Material, 345,000 Tons of Bituminous Surface Course 34" Maximum and 47,700 Tons of Plant Mix Bituminous Seal Coat Type "B". The project is to be completed on or Before September Sep-tember 15, 1977. Prequalification of bidders is required. Prior to any' bidder's receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the Utah Department Depart-ment of Transportation completed com-pleted and approved, the required Prequalificat i 0 n Statement pertaining to contractor's con-tractor's experience and financial finan-cial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Provisions Provis-ions covering subletting or assigning the contract. In conformity with the Federal-aid Highway Act of 1968 the U.S. Department of Labor has certified the wage rates for this project which are - the minimum wages to be paid on this project. These rates are made a part of the contract documents. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that this Department has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, that contractors engaged engag-ed in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, (52 Stat. 1060). The Utah Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the Department of Commerce (15 C.F.R, Part ' 8), issued pursuant tosifch Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the ground of race, color, or national origin. The Utah Department of Transportation also notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively affirma-tively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration considerat-ion for an award. A current list of minority contractors, suppliers, and equipment lessors is available and will be furnished by the Utah Department of Transportation, Transpor-tation, Room 608, State Office Building, upon request. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on forms provided by the Department; or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than 5 per cent of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Utah Department of Transportation, as evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required.
