New Officers Installed Sunday By Valiant Chapter, Eastern Star Officially ending a term of j service for outgoing officers I and beginning of a new year for incoming elects, Grand Worthy Matron. Maxine Boyd, assisted by Grand Marshal Hildur Unger presided at Sunday's installation of: Worthy Wor-thy Matron, Lucille Isaman; Worthy Patron, Richard Parsons; Par-sons; Associate Matron, Eu-la Eu-la Griffin; secretary, Ad-rienne Ad-rienne Smith; treasurer, Sylvia Syl-via Bittle; Conductress, Jean Tarro; Associate Conductress, , ci Betty Engstrom; Chaplain, ' Lewis T. McKinney; Marshal, Mar-shal, Roma Parsons who is also serving Grand Chapter as Grand Warder; Organist, Betty Jo Hayes ; .Adah Velda. Bittle; Ruth, Alice McKinney; McKin-ney; Esther, Nellie Beyeler; Martha, Fran Townsend; Electa, El-ecta, Frankye Sparks; Warder, War-der, Palma Jacobs. Due to illness Associate Patron Norman Nor-man Boyd and Sentinel Faye Minton will be installed at a later date. Installing Organist, Margaret Mar-garet Gaskill and Installing Chaplain Frankye Sparks also al-so assisted in the ceremony. Choosing as her theme for the ensuing year, "Light of Friendship; motto, "An Un- derstanding Heart," emblem, "Heart;" flower, "Lily of the Valley;" watchword, "Smiles;" "Smil-es;" colors, Blue and White; and Scripture, Matthew 7-1, Mrs. Isaman expressed the value of friendship, especially especial-ly for her family, as coming into this area unacquainted and now enjoying many new found friendships. Her aim is to extend the hand of friendship friend-ship to all and hoping to promote this experience with an understanding heart and "smiles." The program was present-, ed along with gifts under the supervision of Associate Matron Ma-tron Eula Griffin and outgoing outgo-ing officers for the Presiding East. Later program and gifts under the planning of Conductress Jean Tarro to the New Reining East, assisted assis-ted by reading of tea leaves by Star Points and beautiful rendition of songs by Fran Townsend. A large number of members, mem-bers, friends and guests attended, at-tended, to later enjoy tha reception in honor of the Grand Officers. Some of those were the Worthy Ma- tron's sister, Marian Fisher; and sister-in-law, Bobby Bennett, Ben-nett, from Monticello; and also in honor of her installa- ' tion, Margaret Bennett of Moab. |
