Show Moab Welcomes New Industry With Bright New Publication "The citizens of Moab, Utah want new industrial-commercial industrial-commercial operations to locate lo-cate in their community and are carrying on a vigorous campaign to add industry to their mining and milling based bas-ed economy." These are the opening words of Moab's new industrial indus-trial brochure copies of which arrived last week. The brochure is made up of 31 pages of text, facts and photos presenting reasons for industries to consider the Moab area for thhe locating of their plants. The cover shows Moab as the center of a target with radiating circles illustrating the closeness of markets. The cover states that there are 19 million people with a day's travel from Moab. Within the covers the brochure bro-chure presents detailed figures fig-ures on available markets within a short distance of Moab in the surrounding states. It presents the transportation trans-portation facilities in the vis- . ual form of maps as well as in text, including highway, railroad and air transportation. transporta-tion. Community facilities, climate, recreation, utilities, and present industry and agriculture ag-riculture are topics covered by the new brochure. It also goes into natural resources and taxes in depth to give a prospective plant owner a correct and concise picture of the area's potential. 1500 brochures were printed for Moab without cost to the city or county government. The printing was done in Salt Lake City by the Utah Committee Com-mittee on Industrial and Employment Em-ployment planning. There was a charge made for the cover design, art work and materials which amounted to an estimated cost of $700. The local members of the New Industry Committee include in-clude Chairman Don Konwles Executive Officer Harold Gaither, Bud Lincoln, Ed Drake, Sam Taylor, Robert Dalton, Fred Stoye, Bob Norman, Nor-man, Louis Kisida, Dr. Paul Mayberry, Jack West, Ralph Osborne, Norman Boyd, : Gene Cary, Ray Branscom, Les Erbs and Harold Jacobs. The new brochures will be directed to personnel of light industries, electronic- plants and prospective businesses. |
