Show December Police Act ivities Outlined by Chief AMm Activities of the Moab City Police Department for the month of December have been summarized by Chief Ken Aikms. The two police cars in service traveled a total of 4,241 miles during the month. The Department staff made 32 traffic contacts con-tacts ,and issued a total of 32 citations for traffic violations. vio-lations. Twelve accidents, netting $2,795 in property damage were investigated by the Department during the month. The figure does not include property damage as yet unestimated, at Walker Drug Co., caused by an improperly parked vehicle. During the month 7 investigations in-vestigations of theft were madle, 3 solved; 12 reports of vandalism were received and investigated; 16 trouble trou-ble reports were received and answered ,and 3 emergency em-ergency messages delivered. 22 vehicles were inspected for Utah title; 1 bicycle license li-cense issued ,and 3 canine trouble calls answered'. The department provided three official escorts. Seven juveniles were referred re-ferred to juvenile court on various charges during the month. Radar checks netted 3 arrests ar-rests on speeding charges, 2 on a speed contest. Two public intoxication arrests were made, 3 DWI's and 3 arrests for operating a motor mo-tor vehicle without operator's opera-tor's license. Other citations were issued is-sued for obstructed windshield, wind-shield, improper passinsr. no muffler, failure to yield right of way causing an accident, failure to display gross weight on truck, and failure to secure brakes on a parked truck . causing property damage. Nineteen dogs were picked pick-ed up by police officers, 10 dogs destroyed!; 12 cats were picked: up, all destroyed. |
