Show Pork Tree Removes! In lest Interest, City Saws A check with City officials offic-ials regarding the much-opposed much-opposed removal of shade trees from the new City Park reveals there are two sides to every story as a rule. City Recorder Lee Stocks confirmed that seven sev-en silver leaf maple trees have been removed from the east side of the park, and will be replaced with trees recommended by the Moab Shade Tree Commission. Mr. Stocks said the silver leaf maple trees had become be-come a problem in the park. Because of a hard-pan hard-pan under the park, the roots were shallow and protruded pro-truded through the lawn. When struck by a mower they developed huge knots, which not only decommissioned decommis-sioned the mower but were a hazard to strollers in the park.
