Show I New Medical Assistance Program For Aged Instituted in Utah The new medical assistance program for the aged made possible by amendments to the Federal Social S Security Act and legislation by the State of Utah goes Into effect Saturday July 1 according to Dr Wallace S. S Brooke president of the Utah Medical association The new program Is designed to help ailing senIor citizens 65 years of age or older who o have an income of less than per month as a single person or a month as a couple Approximately Approximately third one-third of the cost of this program will be paid for by bythe bythe bythe the State of Utah and two- two thirds by the Federal Govern Govern- ment The l t state legislature voted funds of for two years The Federal Government Government Govern Govern- ment will pct up twice this much or approximately 25 million for the year two-year pro pro- gram The program will wilt be administered administered by the State Department of Public Welfare under onder the direction of James G.
