| Show x I 1 i M k m I NEW MAILING The CONVENiENCE Post Office Departments Department's Research and Development Laboratory In Washington DC D.C. is experimenting with a now new one hand mail mall box Mrs Norman Jean Biglin a Washington Postal employee is shown demonstrating the box The box not only has three slots for mailing letters Instead of the customary ono one a distinct advantage on busy street corners permitting several persons to mall mail their letters simultaneously but letters etters can be deposited when only one hand is free tree One Ono of the slots incidentally is for mailing letters from autos The box permits one handed d operation because it has top-hinged top flaps much like those on mail mall drops on the home front door and it is only necessary to push the letter in With other mail mall boxes it is necessary necessary necessary sary with most types to pull down with one hand and insert the letter with the other The experimental new box will be placed in operation in the near future in a number of cities over the Nation as yet undetermined It is one of the many developments of the new programs of research and postal improvements ordered by Postmaster General Arthur E.
