Show Moab Old Folks Honored By Annual DUP Party Event by First President Brigham Young Around seventy-five seventy Moab old- old timers were honored at the Annual Annual An An- nual Old Folks party sponsored each year by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Moab old-folks old gathered in the church on Friday where they enjoyed a turkey dinner and a program made up of talent home-talent num num- bers The DUP nanual affair was originally begun by Brigham Young leader of the Mormon Monnon group which colonized Utah and has been a popular yearly event ever since Honored at the beginning of the program was Moab's oldest citizen Mrs Hulda Nielson who celebrated her birthday last week Mrs Lydia who was chosen by the DUP as Moab's mother of the year this year was presented with a potted plant at the party A tumbling net act by Linda Stocks and Tanny Murphy was then enjoyed by the group Two vocal numbers were offered by Arnel I Holyoak followed followed fol fol- I lowed by a duet by Sherrill Holyoak and Balerie Jones They were followed on the program by Mrs Bea Morris who entertained entertained enter enter- tamed with vocal numbers accompanying accompanying accompanying ac ac- ac- ac companying herself on the gui gui- tar The party was closed with all the daughters singing We Are Daughters of Those Grand Old pid ld Pioneers Essie White is captain of y ne e Moab Camp of the DUP |
