S Atomic Energy Commission Commission Com Come mission and the Lost Creek Oil and Uranium Company of Rawlins Rawlins Raw Raw- lins Wyoming this week signed a contract for the construction and operation by Lost Creek of ofa a uranium processing mill near Split Rock in Freemont County Wyoming it was announced this week at the Grand Junction Operations Operations Operations Op Op- Op- Op office of the commission Construction of the new plant Is expected to start right away with completion scheduled in about twelve months The new plant to be owned and operated by Lost Creek will treat uranium ores of the Gas Hills Hills- Crooks Gap area of the Wind Riv Riv- er district In Freemont county Split Rock the proposed site of the plant Is on U. U S S. S Highway about 56 miles north of Rawlins Raw- Raw lins 66 miles southeast of Lander and 90 miles southeast of River- River ton In addition to processing ores owned or controlled by the contractor contractor con con- tractor ores produced by independent inde rode pendent operators will be purchased purchased purchased pur pur- chased and treated in the plant The uranium concentrate product will be sold to the commission under under un un- der the terms of the contract The contractor plans to use an acid acid- RIP process based on extensive test work performed for the contractor contractor contractor con con- tractor by the Colorado School of Mines Research Foundation Inc Officers of Lost Creek Oil and Uranium company are Robert W W.
