C Davis Omitted hit lait week Judging from the crowd the number of horses and the enthusiasm en of everyone present both spectators and exhibitors rs Grand county's first annual horse show was a huge success There was a total of 52 horses hors es exhibited by 20 different exhibitors ex cx considerably more than was anticipated by the committee in charge This kind of show is definitely here to stay and should grow by leaps and bounds in tn the future as it becomes better known One thing it definitely shows is that a good many of f our people peo pIe still have a love for good horses Without Without- the horse this part of the state wouldn't be what it is today Though we do donot donot donot not have the need for as many good horses today as we had Inthe in inthe inthe the past our need for good horses is still with us T This This- lS' lS horse show business is the way i in th the world to improve the quality o of horses I in our section When a few start improving and upgrading the thel I quality of their string it wont won't be many years until all the neighbors will start horse trading trading trad trade ing in earnest There is nothing In n my mind that can give a fellow an Inferiority in In- complex quite SO s o quick as to have a ride with someone who owns big well bred horses with me bringing up the rear with spurs on both feet and a cedar tree in each hand trying to get a little knot-headed knot legged crooked cr cayuse to keep up A word of praise and appreciation atlon should surely go out to tOI all those who helped make the show a success Honorable men tion should certainly go to people peo pIe like Cliff White Charlie Gavin and Billy Cunningham who by their efforts added so much to the quality of the show They brought horses con distances at quite an ani expense just to cooperate Special mention should also be given to Cecil CeU Thomson for furnishing bulls and calves for the grading demonstrations These demonstrations were not part of the horse show proper I but were a part of the days day's ac sc favorable com corn uL i Many t. t i n uL i t. t i n ments were heard regarding these demonstrations Following is a list of classes and winners Brood mare mare Cliff Cliff White 1st Bill BUl Boulden 2nd B.
