Show CENTRAL DISTRICT MEET SUCCESSFUL Central District of the Utah Federation of Women's clubs held its annual convention at the Cop-perton Cop-perton LDS chapel on March 25 with Bingham Women's Civic club hostess club. Tiieme was I "Better Living Through Better 'Reading." The nine clubs participating par-ticipating in the meeting were: Bingham Women's Civic club, Magna Women's club, Midvale Community club, Midvale Ladies Guild, Jr. Women's club of Murray, Mur-ray, Ladies Civic Guild of Murray, Mur-ray, Murray Women's club, Jr. Women's club of Tooele, and Tooele Too-ele Women's club. The convention opened with a board meeting at 9:30 a.m. followed fol-lowed by the morning session at 10:15 a.m. which included: flag salute, Copperton Girl Scouts; club collect, Mrs. H. T. Goodjohn; greetings, Mrs. C. A. Curtis; response re-sponse and introduction of officers of-ficers and guests, Mrs. R. V. Kett-ner; Kett-ner; vocal selection, Ralph Sid-doway; Sid-doway; greetings, Mrs. O.J. Kingston; King-ston; address, Miss Alta Miller: treasurer's report, Mrs. Harley English; auditors report, Mrs. Matt Peterson; president's two minute reports, nomination of district directors and roll call. The afternoon session consisted of a vocal duet by the Misses Darlene and Maurine Morley, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. C. A. Morley; address, Miss Ada Duhigg; report re-port of junior clubs, Mrs. Grant G. Bryan, Miss Belva Doran; his-i his-i torian's report, Mrs. Louise Critehlow; piano and organ duet, Mis. Hanna Sanderson, Mrs. Nora Austin; bond drive remarks, Mrs A. C. Lambert; invitation to 1951 convention, Mrs. Francis Ridge; resolutions, Mrs. Bryan Bird; retirement re-tirement of flag, Copperton Girl Scouts. The luncheon at 12:30, which j was prepared by Copperton Ward Relief Society, was very delic- ious and thoroughly enjoyed. De-1 De-1 eolations were in copper and silver, club colors, and included a centerpiece made by Mrs. R.G. Benson of copper-shaded carnations carna-tions and silver leaves with copper-shaded ribbon bows. Favors were placecards with a copper pick and silver shovel with names nam-es inscribed in copper ink. Identifications Iden-tifications were plastic cards with a copper penny and the names of the wearer on them. There were 92 in attendance.
