Show KEPORT FOR YEAR 1929 SHOWS circulation OF BOOKS TOTALED VOLUMES PURCHASED during the year 1929 people were patrons of the grand county public library and they borrowed a total of books according to the annual report of mrs edna shafer librarian tiled with the state board of education this week of the total of users of the library were adults and were children at the end of the year adult borrowers cards and childrens were in force the library at the end of the year had a total of volumes 2722 being adults and 1127 childrens during the year adults and childrens volumes were added by purchase totaling new books acquired during the year collumes were lost or withdrawn so that the library ended the year with a net increase of volumes the total circulation during the year was adults 1142 children for a total of the number of volumes of adult fiction circulated was the library was open for circulation days during 1929 while school was in session the institution was open six days each week which was reduced to three days per week during the summer vacation the library was open 28 hours each week during the school term and 16 hours per week during the remainder of the year the county library closed the year with a balance on hand of 2316 93 the total expenditures during 1929 including salaries purchase of new books and all expenses amounted to the report of the librarian shows that the institution Is in splendid condition and Is serving a large proportion of the people of grand county |
