| Show UTAH DEER SEASON OPENS NEXT MONDAY the 1930 deer season will open in utah monday october 20 when thousands hou sands of men and boys will go into the mountains with high pow ered rifles in quest ot the wily buck to the experienced hunter suggestions from state game officials are needless says J arthur mecham state fish and game commissioner but he fact that many will go deer hunting for their first or second time seems reason enough for a few instructions from the commissioner the session continues to and including october 30 making a period of 11 days first of all says commissioner mecham be sure you are going into open territory those portions of the state which were hunted last season will be open this season that Is all the state except the game preserves and davis and salt lake counties will be open and in addition the same portions of dixie lake heaston and cache game preserves that were opened last season will be open this year no deer except males with horns at least five inches long may be legally shot in anny part of the state the head must remain on the carcass and no attempt should be made to destroy the evidence of sex one buck Is the limit if a hunter is sure before he shoots that the deer has horns at least five inches long he will not then make the mistake of shooting a doe or a fellow hunter the law anat each hunter wear a red cap it Is very important that this rule be observed the use of dogs in hunting deer is prohibited no boy or girl under 16 ears of age is permitted to hunt deer |
