Show WE SAY AMEN TO THIS the times independent heartily endorses the sentiments in the following editorial taken from the farmington 7 mexico times hustler the tallies talkies and the radio have been perfected to the point re and tent shows of any kind have little place in the smaller communities chautauqua died in last year when attendance so haht as to cause heavy loss to the public spirited citizens personally guaranteed nearly eight hundred dollars to the lagers this year the summer show with a somewhat lower guare which was assumed by the local post of the american ion failed to draw crowds enough to save the backers from ting a deficit t people who have the best of music and speeches over the io and can go to the tallies talkies and see and hear the plays musical comedies are not greatly interested in the type of many of the programs put on by the tent shows Is it not about time for farmington people to quit offering to outside entertainers if the traveling shows want to ie in and stand on their own merit and can make money at it d luck to them but we see no reason why local people should dig up for deficits to these folks the money can be to better use in organizations and home town entertainment t will help build up this community |
