| Show CRESCENT ROAD TO BE BUILT AT ONCE A federal aid gravel surfaced highway extending from valley citron city on the moab thompsons road directly to crescent connecting with highway no 50 will be constructed at once as the result of an agreement consummated yesterday between the state road com and the board of county commissioners mIss missioners loners ners the survey tor for the road has been completed and the project will be advertised to bidders within the next week or two the road Is the fine and one eighth miles long preston 0 peterson member of the stateman state stat toad eMad commission E C knowlton ass assistant distant state road toad engineer and R A gillis district road engineer met with county commissioners H 0 green and A M robertson yesterday the state officials agreed to construct the highway with the stipulation that the present road from valley city to tho thompsons Thomp ons sons and the present road from vol I 1 ta marto P floy not bo be maintained in the future the new road will make possible the elimination of both of these route toute a great saving in mileage interested residents of the thomp sons ons and valley city districts aie ate favorable to the change the valley city crescent spur will cost in the neighborhood of 35 it Is expected that work will start by february at the junction with highway 50 a wide curve in each direction will be provided with the completion of this road the distance to Green river will be increased about two miles however ome come 15 miles of unimproved dirt road will be eliminated so that the running time between the two towns will probably be lessened the distance from moab to thompsons Thomp sons will be increased only slightly |
