| Show CHRISTMAS ENJOYABLY celebrated IN MOAB AT COMMUNITY FESTIVAL FEST IVALl christmas v was as an enjoyable oL occasion caslon for the people of moab thanks to the wholehearted whole hearted cooperation of the tho various clubs and churches in staging tag in g a community celebration in CO commemoration mm emora of the glad day the moab lions club the L D S and baptist church organizations the women s literary club and the thursday afternoon club joined forces in conducting the christmas festival tha the affair was as undoubtedly the most successful in the history of the town and the committees in charge are to be heartily complimented tor for their efficient work in excess of was contributed by the organizations to meet the expenses no general donations were solicited on saturday afternoon more than 50 baskets containing groceries and christmas goods were ere delivered to needy families and some 60 christmas cheer parcels were presented to the older folks of the town at 6 30 on christmas eve a corn com meeting was held on main street around the gaily lighted christmas tree santa claus was present and he distributed in excess of bags of candy and nuts to the people in attendance several hundred additional bags of the christmas sweets were left over and were given to the churches to be distributed to those who were unable to attend the festival the christmas eve fete was a gay sight and a feeling of good will and merriment was in evidence among the assemblage undoubtedly the affair will long be remembered as a very enjoyable occasion the christmas holidays have been fittingly observed at moab on friday evening a christmas program and party were staged by the high school at the star hall many parents and friends joining with the students in the merriment christmas programs were also given by the L D S and baptist sunday schools sunday special productions at the ides theater have been enjoyable affairs ol 01 the week and several dances at the W WOW 0 W hall have been well attended |
