Show STARTS WORK TODAY PLANT BEEN completely overhauled NEW PROCESS NOW IN OPERA TION following several successful trial runs the big indian copper company s mill 35 miles southeast of moab will commence steady operations today according to preston Q peterson manager of the company who was in moab tuesday mr peterson was accompanied by thomas vardey metallurgist and harlow smoot electrician who have been engaged in overhauling the mill and installing a new process for handling the big indian ores during the past week several test runs have been made and the results have been all that could be desired there is no question in the minds of the officials of the company that the flotation process installed will efficiently and economically extract the copper from the sandstone ores the process which was discovered only a few years ago Is now successfully used elsewhere in the west on ores similar to those mined at big indian the crushing department has been running for the past week and the ore bins are full of ore in preparation for commencing milling on a large scale 1 the mill has been completely oyer hauled and every department is operating smoothly the big indian ores are easily mined and no trouble is anticipated in keeping the plant running on a capacity basis of tons per day |
