Show FAMOUS COPPER PROPERTY SOUTH OF moab TO START WORK ON TON DAILY BASIS USING FLOTATION PROCESS the big indian cooper company owner of the famous big indian mine 40 miles southeast of moab resume the operation of its tal ta about a month the null will be re modeller modelled model led slightly and equipped to handle tons of ore daily using a flotation process which Is successfully employed elsewhere on similar ores such was the statement made in moab tuesday by W D loose president of the company who stopped off here on his return to prove from a trip to big indian mr loose was accompanied by thomas varley prominent metal formerly with the U S bureau of mines and fi E parker a mill en arrangements were made by mr loose whereby the moab company will haul the equipment and supplies needed for the remodelling remo delling of the mill it is expected that materials will commence to arrive in about three weeks the new process to be used will not necessitate extensive remodel ling of the plant and it Is expected that the treating of ore can commence within a short time it Is intended to operate the mill on a ton dally production the crushing department will not require any alterations and the steam power plant Is in shape for work the flotation process to be used Is successfully employed at other mines in this country on copper ores similar to those found at big indian there Is said to be no question that the system will prove successful at the big indian plant the operation of the mine and mill will prove a great stimulus to business conditions of southeastern utah as employment will be provided for a large crew of men the big indian copper deposit consists of a mount in of milling ore sufficient to kep the mill in operation tor many years it Is said attempts to operate e mill in the past were unsuccessful due to the fact that the metallurgical processes proved impractical th flotation system now to be used Is note an experiment and its operation adf big indian has been recommended by some of the most prominent copper metallurgists in the country |
