Show BLANDING WAITER PROJECT IS BOUNDING INTO SHAPE san juan record sunday morning last W R wallace chairman of the state water commission richard R lyman and J G M bames member held a meeting wah tha prominent citizens of blanding and went over the matter of the proposed irrigation tunnel through the blue mountain to increase the white mesa water supply the gentlemen gave assurance that if the people of blanding would get behind the project as a unit an irrigation district could be formed and the money could thereby be raised to put the project through the estimated cost of the project Is which could be secured on a twenty year payment plan at 5 per cent a year through the government reclamation service and a letter was drawn up addressed to senator smoot copies of which were sent to the other senators and representatives asling that an irrigation district be formed to the end that the tunnel may be built this project Is one of the most necessary ones in the state on account of the necessity of raising more winter forage for live stock in the section affected and it seems that action should not be delayed any longer than Is necessary to get the preliminaries in shape |
