Show joseph neilson 68 a resident of lockerby san juan county died friday night at the home of his daughter mrs B W hector of moab following an extended illness mr neilson was a sufferer from heart trouble and had been in moab tor several months tor the of his health FOE a time he seemed to be improving but suffered a severe relapse two weeks ago and grew steadily weaker funeral services were held monday forenoon from the L D S chapel and were presided over by counsellor bert aured of the ward bishopric the speakers were W R mcconkle of moab and isaac allred of emery a brother in law 0 mr neilson the opening prayer was offered by bishop W D hammond and the benediction by roy holyoak several hymns were rendered by the ward choir there was a goodly attendance of friends and a large array of beautiful floral offerings at the cemetery the dedicatory prayer was offered by D A johnson and the choir rendered hymn mr neilson was bom june 21 1861 in new york state when a young man he came to atah at spring city here he was married and lived tor many ears in 1915 the family moved to san juan county where mr neilson settled on a homestead in the lockerby section ha lived there continuously until his last illness when he came to moab he is survived by his widow and the following children mrs betty hector moab mrs lena brickham locker bv joseph W neilson lockerby mrs eava codner lockerby and floyd neilson delta colo all of his children were with him during his last hours mr neilson enjoyed a wide friendship in san juan county and at moab he was known as a man of high honor and his death will be sincerely mourned by all those with whom he had come into contact in this life |
