Show HIGH SCHOOL NOTES faun reporter there will be an assembly program at the high school friday april 20 it will be given by the junior class and will be intended as a knock at the seniors everyone is invited the program starts at 2 30 A triangular track meet will be held at moab saturday april 21 commencing at 2 p m grand junction and green river high schools will be here this Is one of the big annual events of the grand county high school and promises to be an interesting one ad will be 25 and 50 cents the debating club will make their first public appearance next wednesday evening at parent teachers association meeting the question resolved that the warrior has rendered greater service to humanity than the statesman will be argued those on the affirmative side are harper rutledge captain george powell and eural bronson those on the negative side are clay allied captain faun mcconkle and ziritta day the seniors are hard at work on their vaudeville program which will be presented may 2 the contest which had been conducted by the woman s literary club last fall on reading books has been closed and prizes awarded as follows junior high madge first prize 2 22 books helen bush second prize 1 16 books central school ruth shafer first prize 2 21 books marguerite taylor second prize 1 17 books the contest was judged on the number of books read the selection of books and the authors prizes will be awarded at the meeting of the club on april 26 the epidemic of influenza which has spread rapidly throughout southeastern utah the past two weeks Is apparently declining only slightly yesterday the attendance of the moab schools was cut down by over fifty as a result of sickness 36 central and 16 high school students being absent from their studies only a few of the cases are serious |
