MODERN industrial STANDARDS never before has an industry attempted to organize its operations so strikingly in the interest of the public as oil producers are doing today says the manufacturer this industry of a highly competitive character is voluntarily placing restrictions upon itself to eliminate wasteful methods it is regulating itself in order to give uniform distribution and maintain equitable prices throughout the nation and it is seeking to eliminate duplication and wasteful methods in the field of exploration the remarkable part is that it is doing this of its own accord and openly seeking and accepting state and federal cooperation tending to strengthen the whole oil structure such a program is typical of the modern american industrial spirit which holds that service is paramount and that the consuming public has interests which should be recognized in a product of universal use our nation has little to fear from an industry which voluntarily recognizes and accepts such standards
