Show A town band was organized last week under the direction of V P walker who reports that the organization is now making good headway at present there ara about twelve regular members and a fair instrumentation more members are in sight and it is hoped that the organization will grow to twice its present size the band will make its first public appearance on monday july 25 as a part of the pioneer day pro grair when it will lead a novelty parade the members are as follows cor nets albert watts and arthur clarinet bent peterson baritone reed somerville bass P walker and alvie holyoak altos S thomson and harper rutledge trombone ladue williams saxophones jack clark and west ham drums kenneth robertson Roh ertson and loys maxwell all of the members of the band are capable musicians and with nucleus now at hand moab should soon boast a musical organization that will be a distinct credit to the town the business interests of moab are encouraging the band boys in their undertaking and the general support of the community it is hoped will be extended A good band is a tremendous asset to any town and such an organization in moab can do wonders in stimulating community work it is to be hoped that the band will continue to grow and that the members will find their work with the organization both pleasant and profitable |
