Show YULETIDE SEASON HAPPILY OBSERVED AT MOAB SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES GIVE PROGRAMS ta celebrated at moab with a series of entertainments which served to melad den the hearts of the younger folks elaborate i J evening one of the most yuletide programs s aged at moab for a number of years was presented at the star hall by th i pu ans odthe 1 l school an operetta down the chimney with santa aa in a manner that would have done credit to much older students some seventy five children took part in the play and all were in costume the many songs and speaking parts were rendered faultlessly and the children and teachers as well as the parents who furnished the costumes are to be highly complimented on the splendid of the performance A large audience greeted the children and were enthusiastic in pronouncing the operetta one of the best that has ever been staged at moab on friday night the baptist church sunday school gave a christmas program of songs and readings which was highly enjoyed by a large audience bof parents and friends A gaila decorated christmas tree and a real santa claus who distributed drifts rifts to the children were features of the entertainment A high school christmas party followed by a dance for the public was given at the star friday night A large crowd was in attendance and pronounced the affair a great success on christmas night a special pic ture was presented by the ides theater followed by a big dance one of the largest given during the season incidentally it was the last danca ever to be gi velPin the goodmen woodmen hall which burned down monday evening the L D S sunday school gave special christmas program sunday morning there was an elaborate christmas tree and santa claus who made the hearts of the little folks happy by presenting ahem with the program was largely attended and was pronounced a distinct sue cess on tuesday night the M I 1 A presented a special christmas program in the L D S recreation hall ahe program which was well attended consisted of musical numbers and a one act christmas play the moab ward entertained wednesday afternoon with a childrens dance a feature of which was a fish pond by means of which all the child ren were again presented with gifts probably the most successful social event of the christmas season to date was the annual party of the alumni association of the grand county high school given last night the function which was to have been held in the goodmen woodmen hall took place in the star which was gaily decorated for the occasion dancing was the main diversion and a one hour was had for the serving of refreshments A large number high school alumni with their friends attended A considerable sum of money was realized from the entertainment tain ment and will be used for the benefit of the high school |
