Show hia school news the program which was given at the high school last friday consisted of numbers given by the different lasses the program opened with the awarding of the three prizes to the winners of the forest essay contest the local forest supervisor had offered 12 50 in prizes for the three best papers of not less than words and not to exceed 1000 words on the subject what the national forest means to this the prizes were awarded as follows george powell first rosalie garcia second clara third the orchestra played a selection and the classes gave their programs audrey taylor of the sixth grade gave a piano solo anna wilcox and oscar jameson of the eighth grade each gave a reading andrew mcconkie and curtis robertson then gave a number of science experiments which were puzzling to many of the onlookers for the freshmen dorothy pace rendered a monologue louise hamby of the sophomores gave a saxophone solo other numbers from the sophomore class were a musical dance and song by clara taylor ireta fietcher and grayce goudelock and a solo by eural bronson the junior class held court prosecuting two members of the senior class this was a very interesting proceeding and brought a laugh from the bouse the senior numbers consisted of a reading by ida fetcher and a talk by bent peterson A selection fromi the orchestra concluded the program A number of friday is senior class day and the visitors were present and the pro gram was a very enjoyable one it was the last school program for the year following friday the last day of school everyone is cordially invited to attend the senior program this friday it is free and a good enter |
