Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by ReNee Johnston Girls Club Meeting The Girls club held a meeting Wednesday during fifth period. Purpose of the meeting was to discuss a' girl's choice dance which was decided by the girls to be held Friday, March 25 in the high school gymnasium. A king from the senior high and a prince from the junior high will be chosen to be crowned at the dance. The theme hasn't been set definitely as yet but suggestions were made and the girls were urged to discuss it among themselves. them-selves. A meeting will be held next week to vote on the theme and to form committees for the dance. The meeting was conducted conduct-ed by Mary Pappasideris, club president. Traveling Assembly The Bingham high school traveling trav-eling assembly will be taken to Murray and Cyprus high schools for presentation today, Friday. Students who are going with the assembly will be accompanied by Joel P. Jensen faculty advisor. "Utterly Fantastic" is the theme of the assembly. Cyprus Assembly Bingham high school student body enjoyed a traveling assembly as-sembly Tuesday, March 1 presented pre-sented by Cyprus high school of Magna. The assembly was enjoyed enjoy-ed by all. Band Sweaters The Pep band received their bright blue and white band sweaters Friday. Those receiving sweaters were Gerry Shilling, Ned Miller, Mary Lynn Gayth-waite, Gayth-waite, Ray Christensen, Aria 01-sen, 01-sen, Jimmy McDonald, Sammy Robison, Shirley Cheever, George Geo-rge Gadd, Earl Sybrowsky, Tim-my Tim-my Giles, Don Nepolis, Richard Carter and Norman Cox. Price of the sweaters was $12.85. The band members who didn't buy new sweaters were required to put new emblems on their last year's sweaters. Price of the emblems em-blems was $1.50. The money was collected and sweaters distributed distribu-ted by Gerry Shilling. Prospector's Party Prospectors club will hold an "apron and overall" dance Friday, Fri-day, March 11 in the high school gymnasium. Committees for the dance have been announced and are as follows: Decorations Boyd Stoddard, David Gonzales, James Peterson, Bobby Edvick and Patty Ortega; refreshments Russell Schultz, Ned Miller, Rudy Pino and Dick Jenkins; music Brig Knudsen and Elias Roblez; entertainment Bill Drossos, Don Lipsey and Howard Abplanalp; tables Larry Lar-ry West, Paul Green and Jay Sorenson. Seniors Favor Caps, Gowns Some 50 Bingham high school seniors took a second vote last Friday on whether to wear caps and gowns at graduation exercises exer-cises this May and the majority major-ity favored the proposal. Earlier in the year, the group ruled out wearing of caps and gowns because be-cause of the Kennecott Copper Corp. strike. |
