Show PRAISE fOR AMERICAN GIRL IY V HH I SCHOOL MISS THE G Members of the class of 1907 of the Salt Lake high school ool he held d their graduating graduating exercises in the Salt Lake Theater heater last night It was the final appearance lof of the class in a a. body and diplomas of graduation were given to six eighty persons The Theater was well filled d by friends lof of the young p people ople The program was of songs instrumental music music and addresses addresses ad ad- dresses and ran as smoothly as a studied play Tho The valedictorian of the class was Lester E. E Moreton Thomas Chamberlain Chamber Chamber- lain was awarded a medal for the highest highest high high- est standing in science and three medals medals med med- als were wore presented the class for winning athletic events The Tho only young woman woman wo wo- wo man who occupied the platform as a speaker was Miss Tittle Hesselberg Roy Coates President The program opened with a selection by the school orchestra The The- curtain went up showing the large class in black and white Yh te A A- song written for the occasion occasion occasion oc oc- oc- oc casion was given by the class It was followed by the address of ot welcome by bv bythe bythe the president of the class Roy Coates A song composed for the occasion was then sung by the young wom women women n Miss Tillie Hesselberg then talked upon the high school girl as representing the true American type and declare declared her to be the leader of all nations The boys of the class had a song written for forthe forthe forthe the exercises and it was sung immediately immediately imme imme- after Miss Hesselberg's address One of the tho prettiest numbers of the program was a wand drill by thirty of the young women Receives Three Trophies The class clas was then presented with three trophy cups to be left for future classes One cup will be presented next year rear to the class getting the highest number of points in football the second sec sec- second ond for baseball and the third for track events The cups were given ven by J. J R. R Whittemore who in a few lew w words explained explained explained ex ex- ex- ex their object The trophies were accepted in behalf of the class by Darwin Darwin Dar Dar- win Richardson The valedictorian Lester 1 E Moreton gave an able address dealing with what had been been accomplished accomplished at the high school and the expectations of the pu pu- pils He was followed by another song written by members of the class Again the curtain went down and as asit asit asit it rose again the orchestra began tho the school song Red fled and Black and slowly from the back of the stage dropped a red and black flag As the flag slowly rolled away the members of the class formed in twos and fours Thomas entered and after a short address presented the di di- He also presented Th Thomas mas Chamberlain with a medal offered by Dr H. H N. N Mayo for the person attaining attaining attaining attain attain- ing the highest record in science After the diplomas were presented a a. short address address ad ad- dress of congratulation was given by Prof Geofge George A A.
