J Leonard and Mr John Arronco In relation to coal property in Carbon County I beg to report I drew and had d presented in the Legislature at its last session two bills which i if passed in the form presented would have given the City power 4 to own and operate coal mines and as well as heating plants i The These e bills were amended to eliminate coal mines and but pa passed sed v giving the tho City power to own operate and maintain maintain heating plants In view o of the failure o of these measures I see no practical purpose to tobe 1 be served in continuing our neg negotiations with Mr r. r Leonard and Mr Arronco I desire therefore to be instructed by the Board of Commissioners as to to sl wh what t it any action this department shall tal take e In the future with regard to these matters At the present time there Is litigation pending between 4 Mr Arronco and Mr Morton in which we have intervened for the purpose o of saving c certain rights which the City desired t to exercise I if this legislation had been successful Very respectfully W.
